Day 1
We depart at 9am and drive to Húsafell in Borgarfjörður county. We start the day by visiting a volcanic cave, Víðgelmir, and after we continue to Húsafell where we´ll have lunch. You depart at 1pm in a monster truck to the ice tunnel in Langjökull glacier, a tour that takes appr. 3 hours. On return we visit Hraunfossar waterfalls and Deildartunguhver geothermal power plant before we head to our accommodation in Borgarnes town.

Day 2
Today we visit the Snæfellsnes peninsula. We start by visiting the small fishery towns of Hellnar and Arnarstapi and you can walk from one to the other along the coastline. We´ll stop at Lóndrangar rock formations on the beach, drive inside one volcanic crater before we reach the small fishery towns of Rif and Hellissandur. If we are travelling in spring, early sumer, there is a bird hideout on the way to watch birds like Red–necked Phalarope and Grey Phalarope. We soon arrive at the most photographed mountain in Iceland, mt. Kirkjufell. We stop there before we continue to Stykkishólmur town for a night rest.

Day 3
We board the ferry Baldur that takes us to the West Fjords with a short stop in Flatey island. We arrive in Brjánslækur in 3 hours, at 12. We drive to the west on the south side of the West Fjords Head of Iceland. We´ll visit Rauðisandur, Red Sand, before we continue to the magnificent sea rocks of Látrabjarg with its immense rich birdlife. In April through July you can expect to see a lot of puffins there. We spend some time there and then we head to Patreksfjörður town for night rest.
Notice: If the ferry boat is not departing at 9am, we hit the road and drive instead.
Day 4
The West Fjords are one fjord after the other. We first visit the remote valley of Selárdalur and learn about its very special history (!). We then head to the beautiful and unique waterfall of Dynjandi and continue to the historic placa of Hrafnseyri. We continue through the two small fishery towns of Þingeyri and Flateyri before we drive through a long tunnel and reach Ísafjörður town, the capital of the West Fjords.

Day 5
Today we enjoy the beauty of Ísafjörður and its surroundings. There is a variety of boat tours opportunities, e.g. visit to Hesteyri or Vigur. We drive to Bolungarvík town and up on top of mt. Bolaffjall where you have a view that can only be compared to Table Mountain in South Africa. We enjoy the nature, have lunch in town and return to our accommodation in Ísafjörður.
Day 6
Today we start our return to the south. We drive the eastern part of the West Fjords, through Strandir and Dalasýsla to Borgarnes. We´ll stop on various beautiful places on the way, in Hólmavík and Búðardalur towns.
